ITS A BABY !!!!!!

We thought we would add our own Struttingaroundlondon 5 cents worth to the global joy at the birth of Prince Bob. As loyal members of the the Commonwealth we trooped into London today to witness the 62 gun salute at the Tower of London, the pealing of the bells at Westminster and witnessed the sheer majesty of the line to view the marvel of THE piece of FOOLSCAP paper fastened to an easel.

The day that Bob was born was officially the hottest day of the year and the hottest in 7 years. The car told us it was 38 in our driveway and 35 at 5 :30 pm on the way to swimming training.

Our trip to celebrate Bob was cooler at 27 but an unusually humid day following a thundery night with the first rain we had had for over two weeks. Joh, a good friend of Will's, joined us. It rained heavily as we were leaving home so Aisha decided to follow the British on such occasions and adopted special footwear. Mark objected to her dressing so outlandishly.

Old and new....the Shard and the Tower.

Aisha just loves history.
We went into central London to watch the 62 gun salute from Tower Bridge.

Then it was off to Westminster Abbey to hear 3 hours of bell pealing.

We didn't stay for it all though.

Lastly we arrived at Buckingham Palace to see that others had a similar idea.

We did get to see the foolscap - but from a distance.

Fortunately Sally had been there earlier this morning and got up close and personal after just a 5 minute wait.

We noticed a lot of palace windows open. Does the Queen not have air-conditioning ?

In case you missed them here are a few of today's London front-pages.

We particularly liked this one. It is real, Mark bought a copy.
